Top 10 Stocks For 2014

Delphi Automotive (DLPH) is one of the nation largest automotive suppliers and a leader in integrated audio, video and navigation systems that keep the nation's drivers both informed and entertained while driving.

Delphi also makes collision warning systems now required by law on all new automobiles. Here's why Delphi's stock has been in a steady uptrend and why I believe it will continue rising in the months ahead.

First, the advanced safety features on U.S. automobiles aren just high-end options any more. They are required by federal law.

Second, Delphi's prospects have improved along with the rebounding U.S. car market. This year, U.S. manufacturing industry sales of new cars and trucks will exceed 15.3 million, up from 14.4 million in 2012.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Jonas Elmerraji]

2013 has been a stellar year for asset manager WisdomTree Investments (WETF); shares have nearly doubled since the calendar flipped over to January. That's not a huge surprise considering the fact that investment firms are effectively leveraged plays on this equity rally. But now, the technical setup forming in shares of WisdomTree points to even higher ground for the rest of the year.

Right now, WETF is forming an ascending triangle pattern, a bullish setup that's formed by a horizontal resistance level above shares at $14 and uptrending support to the downside. Basically, as WETF bounces in between those two technical levels, it's getting squeezed closer and closer to a breakout above that $14 level. When that happens, investors have a buy signal.

WisdomTree isn't exactly cheap right now. From a fundamental standpoint, this stock looks downright pricey -- but that has little to do with shares' price action right now. Until the technicals change, the high probability returns remain on the long-side of WETF.

It may not be as big as Invesco Ltd. (NYSE:IVZ) or as high-profile as BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE:BLK), but WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) offers something to investors right now that IVZ and BLK don't ... a lot of near-term upside potential after a big tumble between January and May.

WisdomTree (NASDAQ: WETF  ) , the fifth-largest ETF provider, has grown its average assets under management from less than $1 billion in 2006 to more than $23 billion this year, with an average ETF fee of 0.53%. The low-cost leader, Vanguard, keeps putting the pressure on competitors with extremely low expense ratios. For theVanguard Total Stock Market ETF (NYSEMKT: VTI  ) , the annual fee amounts to a paltry 0.05%.

Names like Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) and CEL-SCI Corporation (NYSEMKT:CVM) may have pioneered and even mainstreamed the idea of cancer immunology, but the nature of the branch of biotechnology means any company could send CEL-SCI or Amgen back-pedaling. See, it's not about size or deep pockets in the world of biotech anymore. It's about know-how and an idea, which can just as easily be discovered and developed by a small company as they can be a large company. That's why AMGN and CVM at least need to keep a close eye on budding immunology competitor TNI Biotech Inc. (OTCMKTS:TNIB).

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

It may not have blazed a trail into the young, immunology segment of the biotech industry the way Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) did back in 2010 with the debut of Provenge. It may not have the same immunology pipeline (and company size) that ImmunoGen, Inc. (NASDAQ:IMGN) boasts. One thing is pretty certain about cancer-immunotherapy developer CEL-SCI Corporation (NYSEMKT:CVM) right now, however - its stock may be poised to dole out a much bigger foreseeable-future reward than DNDN or IMGN are.

Advisors' Opinion:

Yesterday, the Pentagon announced awards of just $347 million in new contracts to contractors. Some were not the kind of companies you'd expect. For example:

Dell (NASDAQ: DELL  ) landed a $9.6 million contract to supply the U.S. Army with desktop computers and tablets. Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH  ) won $18.6 million as a contract modification exercising an option year on a contract to supply various Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps locations, and federal civilian agencies, with laboratory supplies through April 12, 2014.

On the other hand, traditional defense contractors are still earning money by working for the Pentagon. On Tuesday, Raytheon (NYSE: RTN  ) was awarded a $35.2 million order for AN/ALE-50 towed decoys, which aircraft can deploy to distract incoming missiles. Raytheon is expected to complete deliveries on this contract by March 31, 2015.

On a company level, investors should follow the never-ending saga of Dell's (NASDAQ: DELL  ) potential buyout. The company has already spurned Carl Icahn, and now Michael Dell himself is under pressure to increase his contribution if he wants to make a deal happen. Private-equity firm Silver Lake Partners has balked at adding to the pot in an effort to close the deal. One reason is that the PC market has deteriorated further since Dell brought up buyout plans -- and the company was unappealing enough as it was, even at that discounted price. Dell will certainly be the talk of Wall Street today.

It doesn't hurt that Musson previously worked for Dell (NASDAQ: DELL  ) and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ  ) -- two of the most important partners under his new purview. At VMware, he interfaced directly with IBM (NYSE: IBM  ) to the point where Big Blue involved him in some joint marketing programs. That's the kind of well-connected background that Musson brings to Red Hat.
